Accounts & Mobile Overview

A map of profiles, records, history, notifications, and mobile behavior.

Account feature map

NeonSportz accounts use Discord identity. There is no separate NeonSportz password to remember or reset.

Use the focused tutorials below:

What follows your Discord account

Your NeonSportz identity can include:

  • Discord ID, username, avatar, banner, and Discord account creation date.
  • X, Twitch, and YouTube connections exposed by Discord.
  • Xbox and PlayStation names exposed by Discord.
  • Madden leagues and CFB dynasties you joined or requested to join.
  • Assigned teams and NeonSportz permission bits.
  • Madden user record, head-to-head results, and recorded league history.
  • Site notifications and, on supported mobile devices, a push-notification registration.

Changing a value in Discord does not always update an already-open NeonSportz session. Sign out and back in to refresh Discord-owned profile data.

Website and mobile use the same account

The mobile app and website use the same NeonSportz user, memberships, and permissions. A commissioner action taken on mobile changes the same live service used by the website and bot.

Mobile uses a compact navigation pattern. Some large tables and administration forms are easier on a desktop, but access rules and stored data are the same.

Documentation is not part of the mobile app. Guides, release notes, and the API reference live on the website at neonsportz.com/docs; links to them from inside the app open a browser.

Keeping the mobile app up to date

The App Store and Google Play versions ship the same features as the website, but the app only gets them when it updates. Automatic updates are on by default on both platforms; if you turned them off, update NeonSportz from its store listing.

On launch the app checks which versions the site still supports:

  • A newer version exists. A banner appears at the top of the app with an Update link to your store. Everything keeps working.
  • Your version is no longer supported. The app shows a full-screen Update NeonSportz screen linking to your store, and nothing else is reachable until you update. A build that old can no longer be relied on to read the site’s data correctly.

That screen names the version you have installed and the version required. The website is never out of date this way; it always loads the current version.

If the mobile app will not load

An app stuck on the loading screen is almost always saved data on the device that it cannot read — not a problem with your account, your league, or the site.

The app now tries to recover on its own. If it still cannot finish loading after about half a minute, it replaces the loading screen with three options:

  • Clear app data and restart — removes the cache, cookies, and stored database the app keeps on this device, then restarts it. This is what deleting and reinstalling the app does, without the reinstall.
  • Try again — restarts the app without clearing anything.
  • Check for an app update — opens your store listing.

Clearing app data signs you out and is otherwise safe: leagues, dynasties, profiles, and settings live on the server, not on your device. Sign back in with Discord afterwards.

You do not have to wait for a failure to use it. The same control is in Account Settings → App → Clear app data, which also shows the app version you have installed — include that version in any support ticket about the app.

Ads in the mobile app

The mobile app shows the same ads the website does, in the same places: inside the page itself, between sections and tables, where they scroll with the rest of the content. The pages that carry them are the pages that carry them on the website:

  • League pages and dynasty pages, including every tab inside them and their Administration screens.
  • The home page, the Leagues list, and the Leaderboard.

Ads are absent from sign-in, your profile, Account Settings, and the dynasty directory. Nothing is pinned to the edge of the screen, and nothing covers the bottom navigation bar.

The first time you open the app you are asked how your data may be used for advertising. On iOS you may also see Apple’s tracking permission prompt. Declining either one does not restrict any feature of the app — ads simply become less specific to you.

To change your answer later, open Account Settings → Ad privacy choices and choose Manage. That row appears only where the choice applies to you; if you do not see it, no consent is required in your region. Your new choice takes effect the next time an ad loads.

What is collected, and how to reset your device’s advertising identifier, is described in the privacy policy.

Common account mistakes

  • Wrong profile appears: sign out of NeonSportz and Discord, then sign in to the intended Discord account.
  • League is missing: confirm that the commissioner approved the same Discord account and did not only invite you to the Discord server.
  • Social link is missing: connect it in Discord, then sign out and back in to NeonSportz.
  • Administration menu is missing: membership alone is not enough; the commissioner must grant the appropriate NeonSportz permission.
  • Push notifications stopped: review Website and Mobile Notifications.
  • App stays on the loading screen: wait for the recovery options to appear, then choose Clear app data and restart, or use Account Settings → App → Clear app data before it happens again.
  • App says it must be updated: update NeonSportz from the App Store or Google Play; the version you have is older than the site supports.
